Practical Applications for HPA Axis & Hormone Balance

So there’s many things that can impact this communication. Part of it can be lots of medications or supplements that you might be taking that are going to change that bucket of stress. So there’s some things that can negatively impact this. And some things that can positively marijuana use in particular has been shown to impact this communication. And that can be something that long-term can pose a lot of issues to the HPA access. You might have heard of adaptogens before. Those are herbs that are found in different plants, things like your ashwagandha or your Rhodiola. These are herbs that you can purchase as supplements or as herbs that you use for teas or tinctures.
And those can potentially improve this communication because they’re going to help modulate or change your stress response. But it’s always important that before you start on any type of adoption or adrenal support, that you know what your adrenals look like, you are testing, you understand where your cortisol levels are, because if you blindly supplement, then you could be taking a stimulatory, adopted you and like licorice root what you already have high cortisol levels. And now that’s causing our cortisol levels to be even higher, which is then causing more of a negative feedback loop response.
